Oradell FD Covers Paramus During Funeral Services

On Monday evening and all day Tuesday, the Oradell Fire Department provided coverage in the north end of Paramus along with other municipalities while the Paramus Fire Department attended wake and funeral services for their departed brother, Ex-Chief Shawn M. Benson.

During the day Tuesday, Engine 24 responded on three runs, including a brush fire.

Congrats to our Fire Academy Graduates

Congratulations to our five members who graduated from the Bergen County Fire Academy Friday night.  These volunteers have spent two nights over the last seven months attending training at the academy.  Congrats again!

Annual Fund Drive This Weekend

Residents of Oradell should shortly receive literature in the mail from the fire department detailing our Annual Fund Drive, which will take place this weekend.

Beginning on 11:00 AM on September 27th, A uniformed member of the department will call at your door to request a donation and answer any questions you may have.

1st Due Ladder – Smoke in Structure

Car 20, Tower 21 and Engine 24 were initially dispatched to a fire alarm at the middle school in New Milford this morning, but were quickly diverted to the 200 block of Madison Ave in New Milford for a report of a house filling up with smoke.

Tower 21 was the first arriving ladder company and was met with a light smoke condition in the kitchen.  The interior and exterior of the house were checked with Thermal Imaging Cameras by Tower 21 and Engine 24 while New Milford Engine 33 stretched an attack line to the front door.

Debris was quickly found burning in a kitchen trash can and removed from the structure.

Car into a House – River Edge

At 19:59 hours last night, Squad 22, Car 20, Car 202 responded to the 400 block of Elm Street in River Edge to assist the River Edge Fire Department with a vehicle that had crashed into a house.  The Squad Company secured the gas and electric utilities in the home and searched for any additional damage within the home.
