As cold weather and leaves are following please keep the following safety features in mind:

  • Please do not use candles. If the use of candles is necessary, do not leave them unattended.
  • Never park or drive over leaf piles. Heat or even a spark can ignite leaf piles that are placed in the street.
  • Check your heating systems before starting them. Fireplaces should be checked for soot buildup and furances should be checked to be sure that all gas or oil connections are secure.
  • The open burning of leaves or other debris is illegal.
