At 9:15AM, Oradell Water Rescue Units were dispatched to Hackensack Fire Headquarters while the Hackensack FD and Teaneck FD investigated a capsized vessel on the Hackensack River. This was found to be an unoccupied rowboat that had strayed from a construction site.
At 16:37 Oradell FD Dive Team assets were requested into Wallington NJ, to assist Wallington Dive and other Dive units with the recovery of a vehicle submerged in the Passaic River. Oradell SCUBA 26, Utility 25 and Marine 1 responded with Divers. Oradell Divers dressed and stood by as safety / backup while the vehicle recovery was made.

This evening, units from the Oradell Fire Department’s Dive and Water Rescue Team were deployed into Allendale to assist with a water search. Mahwah FD Dive and Water Rescue Team was also on scene. OFD was able to provide two SCUBA divers who worked with two Mahwah Divers. The Divers conducted an underwater search while a manned boat team from Oradell conducted a surface search. Thankfully the reported missing person was safely located in another municipality.
On 5/16/15 in the late evening members were requested by the Police Department to assist in the search of a wooded area near the Hackensack River for a missing person. Squad 22 and SCUBA 26 responded. Units conducted land based searches and operated for almost two hours before being released. The missing person was located elsewhere.
