On 6/23/15 at around 10:20 pm Oradell units were dispatched for a reported Motor Vehicle crash into a home. Oradell Police arrived and confirmed the driver was not trapped, but required medical attention. Oradell Chief 20, Captain 202, Squad 22, Tower 21 and Engine 23 responded along with EMS from New Milford Ambulance. FD units secured the vehicle and stabilized the damage to the home. Units operated about 90 minutes before picking up.
During some training last night, firefighters compared the speed and agility of a manual saw versus a battery powered saw when cutting a vehicle’s windshield. During motor vehicle crashes, firefighters often remove the front windshield to help free trapped occupants.
On 5/16/15 in the late evening members were requested by the Police Department to assist in the search of a wooded area near the Hackensack River for a missing person. Squad 22 and SCUBA 26 responded. Units conducted land based searches and operated for almost two hours before being released. The missing person was located elsewhere.
